Lucky Bay

The Lucky Bay prospect was originally identified by Aurion Gold Ltd in 2002 and subsequently RC drilled by Solomon (Australia) Pty Ltd in 2003.  Drilling has identified a zone of supergene gold mineralisation with dimensions of 70 metres x 25 metres commencing approximately 15 metres below surface.

Enigmatically, the Lucky Bay gold mineralisation is hosted in quartz veined shale.

Better intercepts from this historical drilling included:

  • 13 m @ 14.60 g/t gold from 13 m;
  • 21 m @ 15.17 g/t gold from 17 m;
  • 20 m @ 11.71 g/t gold from 12 m;
  • 18 m @ 4.75 g/t gold from 24 m;
  • 16 m @ 5.95 g/t gold from 16 m; and
  • 13 m @ 4.17 g/t gold from 21 m.

Lucky Bay North

Aircore drilling completed by Integra has identified a 250 metre long, 100 ppb maximum gold-in-hole anomaly with a best intercept of 20 metres grading 600 ppb gold which included a higher grade interval of 8 metres grading 1,147 ppb gold (1.15 g/t gold).  The anomaly remains open to the south-east.

This anomaly is of a comparable size and similar orientation to the original Lucky Bay anomaly and suggests that the gold mineralisation in this area may be more extensive than previously thought.  RC drilling is planned to test for a bedrock source to this gold anomalism.

Exploration during 2008 will primarily focus on resources definition drilling, confirming extensions to the deposit and delineating additional resources within the Salt Creek / Lucky Bay area.
