The Majestic Prospect is part of the Monger Joint Venture between Integra (85%) and Newcrest Operations Limited (15%), and lies approximately 22km north-northwest of Integra’s flagship Salt Creek deposit.
The area is characterised by a shallow transported cover sequence of 2 to 15 metres with a “stripped” regolith profile comprising moderate to weakly weathered granodiorite. Gold mineralisation is hosted within albite/silica/sericite altered and pyrite mineralised granodiorite.
In February 2010, Integra completed a reconnaissance Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drilling program which demonstrated shallow gold anomalism over a very large area – indicating a potential new ‘greenfields’ discovery.
Subsequent drilling results have continued to indicate exciting potential at Majestic, confirming the existence of a significant gold mineralised system with excellent potential for open pit extraction. Reverse Circulation (RC) and diamond drilling is on-going at Majestic in support of Mineral Resources to Ore Reserve conversion and the extent of known mineralisation now exceeds 250 metres.
Recently Integra announced the best yet results from Majestic which included
- 49 metres at 7.89 g/t gold from 63 metres depth, including
within a broader gold anomalous envelope of 89 metres at 4.55 g/t gold. On an adjacent section to the north
- 48 metres at 2.70 g/t gold from 68 metres depth
within a broader zone of 105 metres at 1.42 g/t gold.
These intercepts are from two adjacent 20 metre spaced sections drilled at and beyond the northern extent of the previous announced Inferred Resource of 260,000 ounces at the Majestic gold deposit.
Given its strategic location 22km north of the flagship Salt Creek Processing Facility, Majestic is emerging as a potential future source of open pit material for the Randalls Gold Project.
